Returns and remakes

Components, fabricated boards and printed parts are not the same thing, so they are not covered the same way. This page says which is which.

Catalogue components

If a component arrives faulty, damaged, or is not what you ordered, tell us within 14 days of receiving it and we will replace it or refund it. Send a photograph if you can — it usually settles the question immediately.

Unopened components in their original packaging can be returned within 14 days if you simply no longer need them. Return postage is yours unless the fault was ours.

Components supplied in cut tape or reel quantities specially for your order cannot be returned once cut, unless they are faulty.

Fabricated boards

A board is made to your files, so it cannot be resold and is not returnable simply because it is no longer wanted.

We remake a board at our cost when it does not match the files and the specification you confirmed — wrong stack-up, wrong finish, wrong dimensions, or a manufacturing defect.

We do not remake a board that was manufactured correctly from a design that turned out to be wrong. If you are unsure whether your files say what you meant, ask us before you order and we will look at them with you.

Tell us within 14 days of receiving the boards. Keep the boards — we usually need to see the fault.

Printed parts

Printed parts are made to your model, so the same rule applies: we reprint at our cost when the part does not match the model, the material or the orientation that was quoted.

Layer lines, minor surface texture and the tolerances inherent in fused-filament printing are characteristics of the process rather than defects. If your part has a tolerance that matters, tell us before you order.

A model that is not watertight, or has walls thinner than the process can produce, may print with visible artefacts. We flag this when we see it, but we cannot always tell before printing.

How to raise it

Message us on WhatsApp or write to info@swbai.com with your order reference — it begins with SWB. Tell us what arrived and what you expected.

We answer every claim. Where we are at fault we fix it at our cost, including return carriage.

Cancelling an order

You can cancel any order that we have not yet confirmed, at no cost, by telling us.

Once a board or a printed part has entered production it cannot be cancelled, because the material has been committed. Catalogue components can be cancelled any time before dispatch.
